Well, it sent me on a lapse of time watching movies either about art or with an art theme.
Does anyone remember the documentary about the Vogel's? The couple in NY with the postman's salary and apartment crammed with hundreds of pieces of minimalist and conceptual art?

A new online "magazine", The Scripted Landscape!
Much of it will be a continuation of this blog as it pertains to the LA and greater artistic landscape and the artists that inhabit it and make it what it is.

Her process gives the illusion of a constellation, by blacking out the map and leaving behind dots that denote inhabited areas. I like it very much.

The show was hung really well! The art was speaking to each other, there was plenty of breathing room, and the pieces were engaging and beautiful, yet dark and contemplative.

I noticed that Jack Rutberg next door was still open for a little  while, too. It is great that they have such nice, supportive neighbors.

Actually, one of the things that strikes me about getting out of any city is the silence. The quietude.
The ability to see things without having to be on-guard and alert. The luxury of looking close at things without looking 5 seconds ahead at 75 miles per hour.

Photographing paintings is a total breeze....these paper and cloth beige pieces I have been doing are a whole different challenge. 


I have to wait for the battery to recharge, but I don't think any of the full-scale photos meet my standards.
So, providing some ambient shots that are gorgeous may have to be the way to go.

My work involves the Landscape - figuratively and literally, inferred or represented.
Language and Sky-as-metaphor are two very broad themes that I frequently use.
Language is an intriguing aspect of communication;

This show really is so gorgeous and I am so happy that I sent them something.

You know, when I started the City Silhouettes they were an ironic study in design, a play on PopArt replication without the prints, a study on color combinations in vintage fabrics, and me staring at all the amazing sunsets that were falling overhead in the West at dusk.
